Music is a powerful blessing from the Lord that affects us body, soul, and spirit, connects us to beautiful memories, and is the one thing we will never forget.

Ephesians 5:15-20 (NKJV)

THE PSALMS ARE LYRICS TO MUSIC

 

TEMPLE MUSIC, CHOIR, ORCHESTRA: brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion. Choirs of Levites. Choir of Levites sing the fifteen songs of Psalm 120-134 “Songs of Ascents” each one sang on one of the fifteen steps down to the court of the women. They  often sang the Hallel, Psalms 113-118

BY THE SPIRIT WE LOVE, FORGIVE, SERVE, PUT OTHERS FIRST…

19. AND BY THE INFLUENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WE SING AND MAKE MUSIC.

We worship, praise, love god, express truth, teach good doctrine, encourage and strengthen ourselves and one another, and express our thanksgiving, gratitude, and appreciation to the lord, we consecrate ourselves, make decisions of faith, and are moved body, soul, and spirit to be more and be better Christians.

 

STYLES We spend too much time at odds about the style of music, and not enough time using the power of music to see ourselves and one another strengthened.

 

Wed night kids’ music may not have all been my favorite style, but i was moved deeply to see our young people genuinely worship the lord their god.

 

My way and my favorite is not the point; it is to see the glory of god, and to see others moved, not just wanting to be served myself with my favorite style or songs.

 

MUSIC AND THE MIND/BRAIN Music reduces stress, helps depression, sets the mood and mindset of the environment/atmosphere

 

Music is tied with memories of when, where, and circumstances you heard/experienced it. It invokes not just the memories but also the feeling, emotions, attitudes, and beliefs of those experiences.

 

Music is stored in a part of the brain not affected by Alzheimer’s, so even mostly unresponsive patients can enjoy music, as shown by brain scans

Some even begin singing along, and can speak, answer questions, and interact for a time after the music is turned off

 

MUSIC IS THE LAST THING WE FORGET. WE WILL NEVER FORGET “AMAZING GRACE”
