Good Morning January Jumpstarter!!!
Welcome to Day 02
I hope you had a most excellent New Year’s Day and that you are stoked and ready to get our 2019 off to a great start.
I want to congratulate you again on signing up for this month-long course to improve ourselves in spirit, mind, and body. Also know that everything I’ll be sharing and training you in throughout the course has proven to work in my own life. I’m confident it will benefit you too.
Now, welcome to Day 02
Recap from yesterday:
- Remember our goal is improvement; we start where we are
- We focus on Habits, not willpower and self-discipline
- We work hard to keep a positive attitude of optimism
Did you:
- Set up your best method of tracking? Will you be using a paper notebook, computer file, journal…?
(I use a single page printout for a daily check-off list to track my routine activities such as weight, prayer time, exercise, etc., and a “Personal Development” file on my laptop to record insights, questions, observations, plans, what does/doesn’t work… I’ve also used a spiral bound notebook. High tech or old school, you use whatever works best for you!)
- Repeat: TRACKING IS VITAL! Be sure to have a convenient way to record your journey!
- Read your Bible Reading for the day (Matthew 1)?
- Dream and imagine the kind of person you would like to be in one month and in one year?
Great! Let’s move on to today’s very important topic:
YOUR DAILY MORNING ROUTINE
Every morning, or at least Mon-Fri, we are going to do the following sequence:
- As soon as you wake up, smile. (Like Mama said, “You don’t have to mean it, you just have to do it.”)
- Before your feet hit the floor tell your Heavenly Father “Good morning” and thank Him for three things.
- Drink a glass of water before you drink your coffee/tea/whatever. Add a touch of sea salt or lemon juice if you need to, but drink a glass of water; you’re very dehydrated after sleeping.
- Take ten or twelve slow, deep cleansing breaths, in the nose, then slowly and forcefully out the mouth. (I’ll post a video for you ASAP on hindu squats for lymph flow. It’s much better than it sounds!)
- If morning is your time to read your Bible and pray, then add it here.
Now you’ve gotten your day off to a good start — body, mind, and spirit.
Be sure to track it. On your check-off list put the date and add “Completed Morning Routine”. If you need to, list each element separately so you can check each one off.
Also write down some of those dreams you’ve been thinking about. What kind of person would you like to be in a month and in a year? Just write it down.
Note: This is for you personally. Keep it as private as you want. Nobody else reads my journal either!
Remember: this is a DAILY MORNING ROUTINE, it only takes a few minutes but makes a big difference over time. So do it every day.
