HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

May our Almighty, Loving, Heavenly Father bless us with an amazing year as we strive to know Him, serve Him, and love Him better!

Welcome to your January Jumpstart, Day 01.

Congratulations on taking action to become a better You. I’m glad you’re here.

Many will think, consider, and talk, but only a few will actually take action and do something positive for their own personal development. Good on ya, and God Bless!

Since it’s New Year’s Day, I’ll be brief. (yeah, right!)

  • Our three areas of improvement are Spirit, Mind, and Body.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess 5:23 (NKJV)

  • We will work for improvement, not perfection. We are only in competition with ourselves.

… But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2 Cor. 10:12b

  • We will focus on Habit Management so the need for self-discipline and willpower is minimized.
  • We will do things that are sustainable. Our goal is to permanently improve our lifestyle, not just do a crash course and end up back where we were a year ago.
  • Write it down, write it down, write it down! Tracking is vital to our success so start a notebook, journal, spreadsheet, electronic file, or whatever your favorite method is. Record your progress, thoughts, insights, sticking points… whatever will help you get increased understanding during your journey, and help you remember it.
  • We will work as a group, a class, a team. We can “learn at our own pace” some other time. The pressure to keep up with the class is a good and positive thing. Don’t worry about getting behind; you can do this.
  • We will get out of our comfort zone and not allow fear to rule over us. Eat your fear or it will eat you.
  • We will get healthier, mentally stronger, and more Christlike in this process.
  • We will take our personal development seriously, but we won’t take ourselves too seriously. ; )
  • We will keep the Lord’s commandment to stay positive.

…whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things. Phil. 4:8

  • Lastly, we will have fun!

Wellallrightythen. Here’s your Tasks for today.

  • Daily Bible Readings for this week: Tuesday through Friday: Matthew 1-4. (READ THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT IN A YEAR. One chapter each day, Monday through Friday.)
  • Watch the introductory video if you haven’t already. Click here: Jumpstart Intro Video
  • Dream a little. What kind of Person would you like to be a month from now? A year from now? What improvements would you like to make in yourself and your world? List a few improvements you’d like to accomplish in your Christian life, your mental abilities, and your health. (Don’t sell yourself short here. Write down dreams that fire your imagination, are a real stretch, and would be just barely possible.)
  • ENJOY YOUR NEW YEAR’S DAY!

See you tomorrow.
