The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. ~Proverbs 18:4

God’s Wisdom never runs dry

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

The heart is the well of deep waters.

Gold doesn’t tarnish. The old shipwrecks that lie at the bottom of the murky depths still contain doubloons, ingots, and gold teasure of all kind. The wood decays, the iron rusts, the silver tarnishes, but the gold still shines.

When you were younger you were full of ideals, dreams, and big plans. But life is often brutal, and over time those were chipped away, eroded, broken, delayed, shattered, killed, and sunk into the depths of your heart. There they are put to rest, buried in a watery grave out of sight, out of mind.

But the gold doesn’t tarnish, doesn’t rust.

The depths of our heart are not just for burying tragedy and sorrow, heartache and failure. But also a place for unfulfilled hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

The heart of man is deep waters, but a man of understand will draw it out.

What God-sized dreams and visions lie buried in the mire at the bottom of your heart?

Though they have been down there a long time, the gold hasn’t tarnished.

In fact, like lost treasure they have grown in value. They become more precious with the passing of time.

But only you can find them. Only you can stir away the muck and sediment to uncover the true riches that are in there. Only you can resurrect your dreams.

If you don’t, what will happen to them? What will happen to you?

Oh but if you do! If you give it shot, if you take a chance, if by the grace of God you are able to resurrect your dreams and see them come to light and life…

Gold doesn’t tarnish; it becomes treasure.
