By making us responsible for our fellowman and giving us His heart of compassion He grants us a Holy Unhappiness that motivates us to serve Him by through serving others.

Proverbs 24:11-12 (ESV)
11  Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. 12  If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

 

Matthew 9:36 (NKJV)
36  But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

 

HAPPY V. COMPLACENT

THE LOVE OF GOD MAKES YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR FELLOWMAN

FIRST AND SECOND COMMANDMENTS MEAN LOVING GOD DIRECTLY THROUGH WORSHIP AND INDIRECTLY THROUGH LOVING OTHERS

COMPASSION IS THE MOTIVATION

WE LIVE IN A WORLD OF NEED

GOD GIVES US A DISCONTENTMENT WITH THE STATE OF OTHERS’ LIVES

YOUR MISSION/MINISTRY WILL BE BASED ON PEOPLE YOU HAVE A HEART FOR AND THEIR PROBLEMS

WHO WOULD YOU CHAMPION/SERVE?

DON’T QUIT! THEY NEED YOU. IF YOU QUIT ON YOURSELF YOU QUIT ON HIM AND YOU QUIT ON THEM.

HOMEWORK: GET WITH GOD AND DISCOVER YOUR “TRIBE”, THE KIND OF PEOPLE FOR WHO YOU CARRY THE LORD’S BURDEN.
